The phytoplankton taxonomy course was an incredible and enriching experience. During classes, I had the opportunity to learn about the diversity and importance of photosynthetic microorganisms present in aquatic ecosystems. The contents are explained in a clear and didactic way, facilitating the understanding of the content covered. I learned to identify different groups of phytoplankton, such as diatoms, dinoflagellates and cyanobacteria, and to understand their importance in the food chain and in the balance of aquatic ecosystems. The opportunity to analyze phytoplankton samples under a microscope and identify their morphological characteristics allowed me to improve my phytoplankton skills. identification and better understand the diversity of these organisms.
